Summit Charter School

The Heart Of The Blue Ridge Mountains

Welcome to Summit Charter School! Summit Charter School is a tuition-free, public school located in the beautiful mountains of Cashiers, North Carolina.

Talented educators and engaged parents partner together to create an exceptional educational environment in which the Kindergarten through Grade Nine students are able to develop a level of confidence that invokes success, self-worth, and the opportunity to thrive in all endeavors. A unique place-based curriculum allows students to apply classroom lessons to meaningful hands-on learning experiences in the outdoors. This, coupled with STEAM-focused programs, foreign language, and a wide-variety of extra-curricular activities, enables Summit to graduate students who are academically prepared, engaged in the community, and strong in character.

A picturesque mountain campus and state-of-the art facilities provide an ideal setting for teachers and students to embrace high expectations, build meaningful relationships, and practice the seven virtues that comprise the Summit Pledge. This safe community affords students the chance to take age-appropriate risks, to understand that it is okay to fail, and to celebrate accomplishments, all proudly done at “Round-Up” each week. The dedicated parents are a significant part of Summit’s success and support, both at home and on campus, and complete the Summit Experience.

Support Summit Charter School

Summit Charter School is a tuition-free public charter school. We receive the majority of our funding from the State and County, but each year there is a sizable gap that we have to raise ourselves through private fundraising and donations. Because we are a public charter school, we choose our own course of study, which far exceeds other public schools and rivals most private schools. We cannot afford to lose the heart of our program to budget cuts.

Field excursions, lego robotics, international studies, advanced curricula, exceptional facilities - they truly make a difference in our children’s success. You will find there are many ways in which parents, community supporters and concerned individuals can participate in the ongoing support of these programs and others. Please consider giving the gift of education by donating today!
